It is 4:00 Sunday afternoon. I am in my office after completing three services and going to the soccer field for our sport's academy. All those kids sure looked sharp in their new uniforms. In case you didn't hear it in church, the name for our sport's teams will be the "FLAMES". We go this week to Westside Baptist in Gainesville to see their sports and recreation ministry first-hand and ask a lot of questions of their minister and associates as well as the founder of Upward Sports.
If you were in church today, particularly the second or third service, you know that I am still in "SHOCK AND AWE" and PRAISING THE LORD. We had 4 in the first service, 50 in the second service, and 65 in the third service who walked forward to receive Christ as their Savior. I have never in thirty years, had 119 people saved in one day. Our director of missions, Joe Maddox and his family, happened to be present today and I had to get him to come forward and help Pastor Leary deal with all the people. People were weeping all over the sanctuary-some from conviction and many for joy. Pray for these new converts as we gave them the little booklet about their new life. Now, we want to see them follow the Lord in baptism. Don't tell me people are too hard today to respond. The Lord's hand is not shortened or weak and his word will still accomplish what it is sent forth to do.
Pray for our music camp that starts tomorrow. It really is going to be quite unique. All the instruments these kids will be exposed to are something to see. The colors alone are worth your stopping by. They had hoped to have about 20 kids this first year, but they will have at least 50. I assure you, by this time next year other churches will be having music camps.
A few years ago you didn't see sport's camps. Everyone had Vacation Bible School type activities. Now, everyone, including the schools and county have sport's camps to offer. God will bring those He wants to be here and that is what we want.
Keep the vision before you. Together, as the Lord being our Lead Pastor and CEO, we will conquer in HIS name. See you Sunday.
Pastor Lloyd
